June 13 2014 - Hot Top Ten
MONEY - GOODNIGHT LONDON
A lament on London from one of Manchester's finest. Near on eight minutes of one of the standout tracks from last year's debut album, 'The Shadow of Heaven' - now with a film shot by director Jem Goulding, and starring French actor Olivier Barthelmy.
HOZIER - SEDATED
Dark emotive vocals and piano flourishes and the suggestion of a big band that swells and soars - all in the new single, out July 14, from Ireland's answer to Jeff Buckley.
PRINCESS - NEVERLOOK
New Dublin quartet sounding full of surfy goodness, reverb and fuzzy hooks. As they are already starting to wet the collective pants of the blogosphere, expect to be hearing much more of them.
FREEWEIGHTS - LOSING SLEEP
More from the Finnish electro pop outfit with some rhythmic 80s synth styled vibes. We love the sexy last notes from vocalist Toni too.
TIJUANA PANTHERS - NOBO
Taken from their latest third album 'Wayne Interest', the Californian surf-rockers deliver more reverb-washed woozinesd on this second single cut. Currently on tour in Europe, playing Berlin tonight (June 13).
WASTERS - CHANGE YOUR MIND
Cardiff-based post-punk four-piece (formerly known as The Friendly Thieves) making their debut here with this jangle pop single.
LIU BEI - INFATUATION
Hard not to be infatuated with this debut from Richard Walters under the new name - our recent One To Watch. A track of immense quality that sits satisfyingly in the ears and memory.
LOVE FOR ZERO - DUST
Manchester based indie electronic five-piece with their debut out on July 7, and produced by Cenzo Townshend (White Lies, The Maccabees) and John Davies (Everything Everything).
LONDON GRAMMAR - SIGHTS
Continuing their ever-rising popularity since we first introduced them here 18 months ago, the latest single, released June 1, from the London trio's debut album 'If You Wait'.
SSS - MORNING LIGHT
Debut single - digitally released May 27 - from the Sheffield band we have covered a few times here over the last year.
