Is this the new U2?
Dublin five-piece SPIES have just released their new single 'Moosehead' in a follow-up to their 'Distant Shorelines' debut EP of late last year.
Frankly, this is pure and simply one epic anthemic tune that recalls to mind something of the early U2 as it moves into the song from the stomping beat opening, and Michael Broderick lends stadia-filling vocals over delayed guitar riffs that build layer upon layer, with a great sonic wash of sound.
SPIES are: Michael Broderick (vocals); Conor Cusack (lead guitar); Neil Dexter (rhythm guitar); Hugh O’Dwyer (bass); Jeffrey Courtney (drums).
'Moosehead' was released on June 17 via Trout Records.
It sounds like it could easily be on Boxer Rebellion's latest effort too. Sounds good!
