Libertines Hyde Park Reunion Show Results In 24 Songs And 3 Stoppages

Last night (July 5) The Libertines took to the stage for their reunion British Summer Time show at London's Hyde Park three times, as interruptions caused by crowd crushing and fans climbing the delay towers halting proceedings due to safety fears in the 60,000-strong crowd.

The second song of the set, 'Boys In The Band', saw them call the first halt after security came on stage to try and stop the crushing at the barriers.
"We can't carry on if you don't calm down a little bit," said Pete Doherty, as he waited for around  ten minutes before the show could continue. A further break occurred  just three songs later during a version of 'Time For Heroes', and further interruptions when Barat was asked to request that fans stop climbing the delay tower. During the first half, Doherty took to the drums for an impromptu appearance, then played percussion on a rendition of the White Stripes's 'Seven Nation Army' and then proceeding to strum guitar to the Foundations' Sixties classic 'Build Me Up Buttercup'.

This was The Libertines first live gig in London in four years, and covered
favourites such 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun', 'Time For Heroes' and 'What A Waster' - the latter included in the nine song encore, along with a cover of Babyshambles' 'Albion'.

The band also used the show to announce two further London dates which will take place at Alexandra Palace September 27-28.
