Track Of The Day :: Hookworms - On Leaving

From the second album by Leeds five-piece Hookworms, 'The Hum', comes one of the standout tracks 'On Leaving'.

Described by bassist MB as their attempt at “a really minimal two-note rager”, ‘On Leaving’ is six minutes where we see new drummer JN owning the space, as keyboardist MJ layers sonic mastery with each stroke in the call and response notes across the track, add the persuasion of the repeated two chord structure and a feedback-rich end, and you have a pretty fine track from an album that follows on nicely from their 'Pearl Mystic' debut of last year.

Hookworms play an album launch show at Brudenell Social Club, Leeds on November 19.
