Doe Announce New Single // US Shows In February
London three-piece Doe have been steadily working their way upwards and impressing those who have come across them over the last eighteen months or so. Certainly they grabbed our reviewer with their 'Sooner' EP -which they put out last March - and warranted a 9/10 rating. (Read the review here)
They (Nicola, vocals/guitar, Jake, drums/vocals, Matthew, guitar) are now are about to give us their latest single new ‘Avalanche', on Fierce Panda’s 2015 singles series.
Sans bass and with Nicola and Jake's dual vocals, it is part boisterous and peppy, part fragmented, punk-pop energy. Doe have drawn comparisons to Sleater-Kinney and Weezer, and here it feels like they have accumulated the best of both in small fractions to come up with their own unique three-minute whole, as it careers impatiently through a patchwork of hooks and riffs.
'Avalanche', b/w 'Basement', is out on February 16 via Fierce Panda.
Doe's US dates, which they embark on later this month, are as follows:
February
21. New York City, PIANOS
22. Brooklyn, NYC, Baby's All Right
23. Brooklyn, NYC, Palisades
25. Brooklyn, NYC, The Grand Victory
26. New Brunswick, New Jersey, Court Tavern
27. New York, Shea Stadium
