For fans of German electronica, Lea Porcelain may be a new duo on the blocks to check out.
The Frankfurt-based Lea Porcelain was formed late last year by two figures well known on the German electronic music scene: Markus Nikolaus (top pic) on vocals/guitar, of Cunt Cunt Chanel, and producer Julien Bracht (lower pic), sorting out the drums/synths.
To make their entrance, they have kicked off with an impressively dark and epic debut, ’Similar Familiar’. With a distorted and menacing electronic edge and post-punk style, one could deem it the kind of noise Joy Division might have made had they been German.
The track is available to stream below and also as a free download until February 17.
Lea Porcelain make their London live debut on March 12 when they play a free entry show at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington.
