After putting out his debut track 'Pillow Talk' last year, south London singer/songwriter Chris Cookson has now released his new single, 'Sophia', online last week.
With a more electronic feel and R&B depth to its flow, the nostalgic vibe of 'Sophia' utilises Cookson's varied vocal ability - we particularly like the deep baritone section - to recount a three-and-a-half minute tale of a strained relationship.
"It's about that time in a relationship when you both know it's wrong, but you do your absolute byest to disguise that fact", Cookson says of the inspiration behind the lyrics (which, of course, makes us wonder who the eponymous 'Sophia' may be, rather in a James Blunt and 'You're Beautiful' way).
