BABIES, a three-piece hailing from Hull, might have the right name there as looking through some of their videos from last year, they may not be quite 'babies' per se, but just as surely they look as if they still have a year or two left of their teens.
Which makes them even rather more of an interest. There's a little slacker dude attitude in there, as well as plenty of surf-infused guitar on their three-track ('Sink', 'Beach Date (When Yr Dead)’, 'Teeth') debut EP 'Sink', out next week and available as a free download.
The title track with its slow, meandering pace, Ryan Smith’s vocal insouciance and a heavy bassline, and not least the stick-in-the-head line, "Can you kick it?", shows a clear progression from their early tracks like ‘2048’ and ‘Plush'.
'Sink' is out on March 2 via Love Our Records.
