BLACK SURF - LIGHTS OUT
The former Leeds duo, now a foursome (who we first introduced here last November) dig out the big grunge noise riffs on this official debut single released on June 29 (also available as free download).





TAMPER - ROUGH TIDE
Brooklyn-based Australian/Irish duo (Aaron Barnard, production; John Gribbin, lyrics and vocals) describe their sound as ‘downtempo indietronica’, and this track - taken from their self-titled EP released June 1 - draws easy comparisons to Alt-J.





BAILE - LEAVES (ft. Felicia Douglass)
Brooklyn's 'depressive house’ electronic producer Reed Kackley with first track from his 'Matter' EP, out July 21 Color Station label, featuring Felicia Douglass' (Ava Luna) sultry vocals. Catch at first live show at Brooklyn's Palisades on June 20.





LOIS & THE LOVE - PINOCCHIO
Lead by Lois Winstone, 80s synths mix with punk rock choruses for the new single from the London four-piece, released July 6 via ADA/ Warner. Catch them live at Nambucca, London on June 19.





WE'RE NO HEROES - VOODOO
New punk funk single ("happy song with relief and peace within it") out July 31, from the trio who sport a drumming vocalist (think Phil Collins. Not). Catch them at XMusic Festival, Cardiff today (June 12).





KINS - YOUNG
Taken from their forthcoming EP, 'Cyclical', out July 6 through East City Records, this electro-pop track with layered shoegaze marks a return for the Brighton guitar poo quartet. Catch live in Brighton on July 6 at Green Door Store, and the following night at Servants Jazz Quarters, London.





DUHKHA - SCURVY
New single from the Berlin-based Swedish five-piece, who, according to their rep at least, are the "next big thing". We might hedge out bets on that, but this dreamy number is ambient enough.





LUCAS JAMES - THE YOUNG
First single, fusing indie pop rock with soul synths, from the Melbourne singer/songwriter's self-produced debut album (mastered by Brian Lucey - The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys), 'Long Way Back Down', out on July 10 via Leroy Recordings.
