East London alt-indie five-piece Amber Leaves breeze in on a Monday morning with the announcement of their debut single, ‘Heaven’.
Out on July 20, Little Indie is premiering the single here, and you can stream an advance listen before release below.
With Chesney Jefferson’s rich soul vocal leading the way, 'Heaven' is an amalgam of flavours, from its indie-funk arrangement around tight bass and drums, fleshed by keys and interwoven guitar riffs, to its jazzy undercurrent - all of which combine to make something that is refreshing and effervescent, and with just the right vibe for summer.
“We come from diverse musical backgrounds - glitch hop to drum’n’bass, soul and jazz to punk and Britpop," says vocalist Chesney Jefferson. "What gels us is that writing music feels more like a necessity than a choice.”
'Heaven' is the first of three singles, each mastered by Grammy-nominated Mandy Parnell (Aphex Twin, Bjork), that will be released over the course of the summer.
