Track Of The Day :: Cruising - Safe Corridor
Words: Linn Branson
The news that Cruising are finally to release an EP, brings us great joy here at Little Indie as we simply adored our first hearing of the band - over a year ago now - with 'You Made Me Do That', which made our Track Of The Day
The Dublin and Belfast-based foursome - made up of Benni Johnston, Claire Miskimmin, Neil Brogan and Sarah Grimes, and who formed in 2013 as a side project of members from Girls Names, September Girls, Sea Pinks and Logikparty - plan their self-titled debut record (which was recorded in two days in Dublin’s Guerilla Studios back in January, and mixed at Belfast’s Start Together) for release on August 14 via Tough Love Records on limited 12”, with the first 100 on hot pink vinyl.
You can pre-order the single here.
Listen to lead cut 'Safe Corridor' below. Typically on 'cruise(-ing)' control, it hauls Johnston's (ex-Logikparty) standout rise-and-fall vocals high up over its angular guitar riffs and meaty garage beat and bassline.
EP Tracklisting:
1. The Spectacle
2. You Made Me Do That
3. Safe Corridor
4. Lifting
5. Woman
6. Cutlass
