Introducing :: Pure Youth
Words: Ellie Ward
Having known each other since school or college days - mostly playing in different bands together - or via mutual friends, Pure Youth formed as such in the late autumn of last year. Within three months they had written, recorded and released their debut five-track EP 'On Our Way' - which included lead single 'New November' - and which was produced by bassist Oliver Lyu.
Wasting no time, the West London synth-pop four-piece are now set to drop their second single, 'I'm Not Yours', which is out on August 10. Their electronically-fused rock sound with catchy chorus lines, big beats and some steady guitar riffs, have already caught a few tastemakers' ears, and this new track will undoubtedly add a few approving reviews to their musical CV.
Pure Youth play two London dates in the next weeks: Proud, Camden on August 14, followed by The Good Ship, Kilburn on September 16.
Pure Youth are: Dave Hibbert - vocals/guitar, Oliver Lyu - bass/vocals, Elliott Liu - electronics/guitar, Duncan Brookfield - drums.
