Track Of The Day :: Yung - Blue Uniforms
Words: Ellie Ward
Taken from the EP 'These Thoughts Are Like Mandatory Chores', out on September 18, Danish post-punks Yung offer new track - the six-and-a-half minute epic 'Blue Uniforms'.
Following their debut EP earlier this year and recent single ‘Blanket’, Yung - led by impressive 21-year-old frontman and songwriter Mikkel Holm Silkjær - have announced their signing to Fat Possum Records in the US, for the new record (via Tough Love in the UK).
EP lead cut 'Blue Uniforms' takes a different track to what we have heard previously from the band, opening on an almost shoegaze soundscape where the vocals are almost a trace, overshadowed by heavy guitars, before it winds on to delve into hazy instrumentals, while still managing to give a hint of the visceral power they have within their arsenal.
