Having recently released 'Hippie Girl Lover', the second single from their upcoming debut album, we talk to Spanish rock five-piece Holy Bouncer.

This is an abridged interview that originally appeared in music blog The Five Ws Of. For this and more music profiles, you can reach their site with a click here.

WHO are they?
“Holy Bouncer is a band composed of five friends who have known each other since they were 5-years-old. We work every day to try to get as many people as we can to know our music.”

WHAT is the inspiration behind their songs?
“Our inspiration comes from all the music we listen to, which mostly is music from the 60s and 70s - The Who, The Doors, The Beatles, Frank Zappa. Given that we are 21-years-old and we live in 2016, we also listen to current music - Tame Impala, Mac DeMarco, Kings of Leon - this makes our music sound as a 'mix' of all of this.”

WHERE did they grow up?
“We all were born in Barcelona in 1995, and we also went to the same school since kindergarten. We are in love with our city, and we are very proud of it, but musically speaking, the music scene is a bit complicated in the whole country. The town hall and even the government are making it very difficult. It’s really a pity, because it’s hard to find pubs or clubs with live music.”

WHY are they called Holy Bouncer?
“When we were 15, in an English lesson our teacher (who was a music fanatic) told us about the story of Mick Jagger’s assassination attempt. A security bouncer saved his life. Therefore, the teacher said something like “He was a Holy Bouncer!”. That story captivated us and we also liked how that two words sounded together, so we decided that it would be the name of our band.”

WHEN can I see them live?
“We just started our Spanish tour with more than 16 shows, and we are planning some gigs out of Spain: Portugal, France and the UK.” (See dates confirmed below).
