Newcastle indie four-piece Vito have been steadily gigging locally over the last year in the North East, appearing as support to the likes of Get Inuit amongst others.
Now the young band (all aged 17-21) are gearing up to drop their self-released debut single next month. Although they briefly aired a demo of 'Sweet Talk' recently (now removed online), 'Masquerade' is their official first offering. It's a catchy, foot-tapping little indie track, that soars nicely on lively guitar riffs, Tom Conway's vocals and harmonies.
"The song is about getting out of the city you grew up in - in our case, Newcastle - and wanting to do bigger and better things," guitarist Andy Bell tells Little Indie. We think they could be on their way.
Vito next play at Newcastle's Central Bar for Oxjam on October 14.
Vito are: Tom Conway - vocals, guitar; Andy Bell - guitar, vocals; Ben Houlton - bass, vocals; Dom Willis - drums.
