New tracks coming up from Down Under

Little Indie casts its ears and eyes over more of the latest sounds to emerge recently from Down Under.

FLAMINGO JONES - THIS ISLAND DOES CRAZY THINGS

Melbourne producer Nick Bond - aka Flamingo Jones - has dropped a glossy new trop-infused track - the second single from his forthcoming second EP, due out later this year - that uses steel pans and other traditional Afro-Cuban instruments to bring a distinct Caribbean sheen to the track.

MERMAIDENS - SUNSTONE

Wellington, NZ-based trio share another track from their imminent second album 'Perfect Body', released August 4 via Flying Nun Records. Vocalist Gussie Larkin describes it as, "full of time signature changes, evolving guitar textures and imposing vocals."

CORNIGLIA - I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY

The Perth indie dreampop six-piece follow 'Oh My Love' with this new single of swirling layers of dreamy psychedelia, released last month via The A&R Department.

SACHET - TINNITUS

Breezy, jangly sub-three minute lead track from Sydney's fuzzed-out indie-pop quartet. Taken from their July released 'Portion Control' album, self-recorded and mixed by band member Sam Wilkinson.

YUMI ZOUMA - DECEMBER

Lead single from 'Willowbank', the second album by the Christchurch, New Zealand quartet, out on October 6 through Cascine. Blending Christie Simpson's dulcet vocals with smooth melodies in a dreampop arrangements with just a touch of horns here and there.

THE JIM MITCHELLS - ANKLE DEEP

Sydney’s garage rockers deliver two and a half minutes of blistering guitar, mellow drums and smatterings of pop infused percussion in this first offering since last year's EP 'Planet Absorbed'.
