Bohemians, the Long Island, New York-based alt-pop-rock four-piece Little Indie featured last summer with 'Hints', return with a brand new single for 2018: 'Start Creating'.
The track is released today
(January 26), and along with it, an accompanying lyric video, which is a Little Indie premiere - so you can sing along to the vibrant, synthy track with its soaring melodies. The clip is a pretty creative one too, not just bog standard words on a static background.
"With the video, we wanted illustrate some of the specific lyrical themes as if they were being doodled in a notebook by our younger selves during class," explains Bohemians bassist Perry Ladouceur. "That was a bit of escapism for all of us back then; drawing out what we hoped for the future."
Lyrically, 'Start Creating' evolved from singer Luke Lotardo's experience of small town living. "We all grew up in the same farm town on Long Island and spent a lot of our time wandering around in the woods daydreaming of how to get out. When you spend most of your childhood living a bit off the beaten path, it can feel like the outside world, along with a more exciting life, is just out reach. So I wrote about what I thought it might take to get us there," he says.
