Track Of The Day :: Paris Youth Foundation - The Off Button
Words: Linn Branson
By rights, Liverpool's Paris Youth Foundation should really be megastars. They are certainly hard to fault, either on record or live; and given that Little Indie has stalked them furiously for the last year, we can attest to their fineness in all departments.
The latest from the five-piece is ‘The Off Button’, released via Kissability on May 4. Produced by Joe Rubel at Urchin Studio, and mixed by Cenzo Townshend, it contains all the best PYF ingredients, from the lush guitar sound to Kevin Potter's way with the vocal element.
He describes the song as “about not being able to switch off. Whether it's your head or your phone. It's about calling people you shouldn't be calling anymore. It's about the middle of the night and how we all seem to forget how to think and let our phones ruin our lives. It's a song that I hope everyone can relate to, whether you would admit it or not."
Why on earth would anyone want to switch off PYF without at least a half dozen plays! We can't.
Turn on the 'Play' button and listen here to 'The Off Button'.
