Words: Sam Geary
Ahead of their Live at Leeds appearance this Saturday, Spring King have returned on record and on top form with ‘Animal’.
Premiered on BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac earlier tonight (May 2), it is the first we have heard from them since their 2016 debut album ‘Tell Me If You Like To’.
Produced by Spring King frontman and drummer Tarek Musa (who won Self Producing Artist of the Year at the 2017 Music Producers Guild Awards following his work on their blistering debut album), who says of the track:
“'Animal' takes its inspiration from our unshakable reliance on technology and how repetitive modern day existence has become. There is constant tension between human nature and technological progression: we are glued to technology, sometimes not sure how to let go, whilst simultaneously fighting the animalistic, hedonistic urge to unplug and completely lose ourselves.”
