Track Of The Day :: SPIES - Uriah
Words: Ellie Ward
Dublin's SPIES who gave us 'Moosehead' back in 2014, have been fairly quiet over the last few years until releasing ‘Young Dad’ earlier this year.
The five-piece now seem on a roll as they are back with their second single of 2018 in the form of ‘Uriah’. The track, produced by Jake Miller and which is taken from what will be their debut album, 'Constancy', due out later this year, shows a somewhat change of style to SPIES of old, now delving into more of an electronic, synth-ruled territory.
Singer Michael Broderick describes the inspiration for the song, of friendship and betrayal, as "a reflection on the story of Uriah and King David.”
