Listen :: Dawson Carroll makes debut with depression inspired 'Numb'
Words: Sam Geary
Texan solo artist Dawson Carroll dropped out of Berklee College of Music at the start of the year to concentration on music full time. The first fruits of his pursuit comes with this just released debut track, 'Numb.
The downcast essence to 'Numb' perhaps becomes clearer when Carroll reveals it is "all about depression and dealing with mental health issues." It's an affecting single of brooding vocals alongside electronic programmed drums, washed out guitar and pad synths, augmented by a black & white visual accompaniment.
