Micra are a Sydney-based duo who first met by chance at an Unknown Mortal Orchestra gig in 2016, before a year later reconnecting and began playing together.
Which is a fortunate thing as Bulgarian-born vocalist/guitarist Ivana Kay and Australian multi-instrumentalist Robbie Cain deliver some pretty blissful sounds on their psych-dreampop flavoured single 'Plastic'.
Although they have already followed 'Plastic's release last month with 'Child Grows Old', we still think the former has the edge.
"'Plastic' was the first piece of music we ever worked on," says Ivana. "Robbie sent it to me over email right at the beginning of the project. It's about the feelings associated with breaking the mould and taking control over what you want to do with your future. We re-recorded the song a number of times with completely different feels and sounds. It was a long process but we're happy with where it came to!"
So are we. See if you agree with a listen to the four-minute track below.
