[Video] Carb on Carb - Man Says

Directed by Adrian Harris, Auckland's emo-punk duo Carb on Carb - Nicole Gaffney and James Stuteley - have shared a new video for 'Man Says'.

The song is written from the perspective of a 16-year-old Nicole and is about trying to find what sets you apart from everyone else in high school, trying to find who you are at that age, which sometimes means balancing your family and culture with assimilation into mainstream white culture.

The video clip is inspired by 90s teen rom-com movies (think Legally Blonde or Freaky Friday). It pokes at the "I'm not like the other girls" trope fed to us by early 2000's pop culture, highlighted by the eccentric mise en scene.
