Body Type unveil 'Uma' visuals ahead of UK festies
Words: Ellie Ward
With their new second EP - titled, strangely enough, 'EP2' - arriving tomorrow (May 3) via Partisan/Inertia Music, Sydney's Body Type share another track from the record.
'Uma', is described by the group's Georgia Wilkinson Derums as "a slightly skewed love song to Uma Thurman. During the #MeToo movement I watched the exposed footage of Thurman’s car crash on the Kill Bill set. It was leaked years after the film was released with Tarantino claiming he was deeply regretful of forcing his lead actor to drive in an unsafe vehicle.
"I just thought it was an uncanny fictional retelling of what was actually playing out around the world... A rallying cry in support of women like Eryn Jean Norvill who continue to call to account the powerful."
Check out the track via the video - directed by Charlotte Linden Ercoli Coe - and you can hear live this Saturday when Body Type play Live At Leeds and Hit The North this weekend, and at The Great Escape next week.
