Track Of The Day :: Naked Six - Song of the City

Words: Ellie Ward

A riotous rock  n roll affair spills out on ‘Song of the City’, the second single lifted from Manchester-based trio Naked Six's 'Lost Art of Conversation' debut full-length, out on March 6 next year.

‘Song of the City' acts as a passionate and fiery hunk of ballsy rock, filled with biting guitars, thundering bass and furious drums, and enhanced by vocalist/guitarist Seb Byford’s irresistible swagger.

Watch the video for the song, which was produced and mixed by Thomas Mitchener (Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Gallows, Counterfeit.), and shot on location in Manchester, below.

“We wrote this song around the time we first moved to Manchester,” explains Byford. “As beautiful a city as it is, there is also a dark cloud that hangs over these streets. You’ve only gotta take a walk through town to see this. There are people starving and dying out there, yet we treat it as if it were normal. Something has to change. This song is about a man who once had it all but then had his future snatched from him.”
