Check out the new single from Cassia,
‘Drifting', an infectious indie-pop track with a big chorus hook and a breezy summer appeal.
Out now, ‘Drifting’ is a prime four minutes geared for festival crowds from the Macclesfield trio - if we had any festivals this summer for them to sing it out at. The light alt-tropical flavour is worked into the sailing, melodic groove of crisp guitars, funky bassline and smoothly delivered vocals.
Frontman Rob Ellis reveals that the inspiration for the track came "after I watched the movie Interstellar last summer. We then started working it up together in March whilst we were all locked into our house.
“The dystopian storyline really grabbed me back then and it so happened that the lyrics suit what everyone is going through right now, which is really freaky. It’s a song about feeling like you’re drifting. Not having control over what’s happening, distance, daydreaming, growing up and learning for the better.”
So there you go. Now give it a spin.
