It's 'Last Chances' for NZ's REPAIRS
Words: Ali Mack
From Auckland, New Zealand, indie post-punk trio REPAIRS have just released their third single, 'Last Chances'. The track, which dropped last week, is also the first taste of the band's debut album due out later this year.
In just under two and a half minutes, they veer between post-hardcore, emo punk, centreing around Nicola Edwards' looping major key bass line and sharp, serrated vocals, joined by a sonic wall of scorching post-punk guitars. Building to a fevered crescendo close, 'Last Chances' lyrically defines the frustrations of knowing that you’re in the wrong relationship, but feel stuck to change things.
"Ever feel like you've been cheated? Most of us are all too familiar with that feeling, repeating the same behaviours and getting the same results, always left disappointed," say the band.
