Here's a band to stick on your gig radar for post-lockdown and as soon as life returns to as we once knew it, and an evening's entertainment means a pint or two and seeing a few bands, than a cup of cocoa and watching the daily coronavirus update on the box.
The five-piece Pastel - who come out of Manchester, but really... you can just tell, no? - released this bit of a stunner, 'She Waits For Me', last week on local indie label Spirit Of Spike Island.
There's a lot of lush shoegaze sonics and walls of guitars beating down going on here, tinged with a trace of Britpop, a natural dollop of Northern swagger, and a 'gazer version of Liam Gallagher in Jack Yates' front vocal presence.
