MarthaGunn have followed up their run of singles this year with the release lasr week of new number 'Caught Up & Confused' via Communion Records.
The cut is the title track of their forthcoming EP, out August 28, and comes after ‘We Don’t Need Each Other’ and ‘It’s Over’.
Lead singer Abi Woodman says of the track, that it "is both a beautiful and crippling feeling. The addictive rush, that if not reciprocated, leaves you completely empty..... So there I was, caught up and confused. I wrote this at my most vulnerable. It’s the truth I needed to hear no matter how hard I tried not to listen.”
Like many bands during the current crisis, MarthaGunn have had to radically change their plans. Instead of touring the UK this March - now provisionally rescheduled to October - Abi toured Instagram instead, playing a special set (including a locally sourced cover) on every date the band had previously been booked to play.
She brought in a range of guests to chat too, including appearances from William Rees (formerly of Mystery Jets), former British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn, Flyte and Bear’s Den. Meanwhile, the band have also been busy teaching their fans how to cook their way through lockdown and popped by Camden Brewery’s Virtual Pub.
