** PREMIERE ** The Estevans - 2 Minutes From The Lincoln

Words: Linn Branson

The Estevans are a young (three 17-year-olds and their drummer a year older) indie alt-rock band from Guildford who make their debut today (September 7) with '2 Minutes From The Lincoln', released through Organ Records.

They've already caught the attention of promoters This Feeling, who have snapped them up for a couple of live dates (see further down for details), and Little Indie sat down with a beer and had the first listen to '2 Minutes from The Lincoln' a few days ago, which we now bring to you here first.

Produced by Boe Weaver, the track's lyrics "are quite detailed in their meaning, but the whole song in a nutshell is about drinking and the nature of people who drink everyday," singer and guitarist Oscar Pugin puts it bluntly. "It’s quite an energetic track, a bit of a punk feel to it, and yeah, for me, quite a relatable song."

With influences like the Clash, Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, you can see where this four-piece are coming from, and '2 Minutes from The Lincoln' (a pub) exemplifies that. A fast and frenetic sub-three-minutes of biting, gritty vocals, hard-hitting drum thrashes and er, yes, interesting lyrics...

The Estevans are: Oscar Pugin - (vocals, guitar), Morgan Jones -(bass), Guy Ferris - (lead guitar), Ollie Thomas - (drums)
