Words: Richard Cobb
Part blues, part heavy hitting indie chaps, Edinburgh's Gypsy Circus throw open the doors and invite everyone in to their travelling tent of musical wonders with new track 'Holy Lights And Shadows'.
If you’re looking for a musical comparison, you wouldn’t be far off the mark to suggest the band closely resemble fellow countrymen Biffy Clyro in the musical department; vocally though they’re an entirely different beast with high powered sandpaper fireworks lit off from frontman Aaron King that illuminate their songs.
The quartet recorded the single - the title track of their incoming EP which lands on February 8 - at Post Electric Studios in Ednburgh with producer Rod Jones (of Idlewild fame).
“The track itself is about changing routine and leaving your comfort zone," explains guitarist Michael Mackay. “It is the only way to grow as a person.”
You can listen to 'Holy Lights And Shadows' now below ahead of release in our Little Indie premiere.
Gypsy Circus are: Aaron King - (vocals), Michael MacKay - (guitar), Shaun Alderman - (bass), Calum Thomson - (drums)
