** PREMIERE ** Graces - I Wanna Live For Free

Words: Ellie Ward

Sheffield's Graces bring their atmospheric, guitar-driven pop-rock sound to bear on their first new single release of the year.

'I Wanna Live For Free' is out tomorrow (April 19) in association with Violet Gang, but Little Indie is stoke to bring you the first listen of this majestic number from the quartet; a raucous attack of distorted guitars and angsty lyrics, filled with true Northern grit.

“'I Wanna Live For Free' is about the comedown after the party, like that scene in Trainspotting when Renton goes cold turkey,” reveals frontman Stephen Harrison, who also produced the addictive blaster.

“It’s about that feeling on Sunday night when you can’t sleep and you’re writhing out of your skin because your shame and self-loathing have reared their ugly heads now the drinking and the laughter and the music has stopped. It’s about that moment when you ask yourself the question ‘was that really worth it?’ and then realising that the answer must be yes, because there is no doubt you’ll be in the same sorry state next weekend."

Check out the track below, then catch the band live at the following upcoming gigs:

26 Surf Cafe, Newcastle
27 Corporation, Sheffield

MAY
21 The Monarch, London
26 EBGBs, Liverpool

Graces are: Stephen Harrison (vocals, guitar), Billy Marshall (bass, vocals), Bradley Neen (guitar, vocals), Joe Carter (drums)
