THESE NEW SOUTH WHALES - NERVE 2 REVERSE

On the back of her new signing to Break Even Recordings, 19-year-old Tilly Murphy from Newcastle, New South Wales, shares her surfy-pop new single, released last week. "It’s about how I sometimes feel like friends only talk to me when they need to, and like I’m not wanted unless they ask something of me. It’s a strange feeling to have," she says.
BLAIRE - MIMER
Following last year's 'Youth' and 'Smiling', the Gold Coast punkgaze trio are back with a welter of reverb, swirling guitars and using a synth for the first time. Sparked by the passing of a family member, Blaire frontman Ben Stagg says 'Mimer' takes a look at "the idea of distance, whether that be a friend who lives far away, someone who's passed, a favourite place, country, anything. It is a reflection on the fact that you can still feel whatever's missing from you in a range of ways, and can be 'mimed' by something else."
ALMOND SOY - APARTMENT
Produced by Sam Ford (POND) and mastered by Greg Calbi (Tame Impala), the Perth indie rockers return with an upbeat, "mid-tempo groove-based song about reflecting and moving passed on from negative relationships in your life," lead vocalist Brandon Stockbridge says.
LOVEMEDO - RE-LIKE YOU
The catchy chorus and sharp production give the edge to The 1975-esque, self-produced solo debut single from 20-year-old Sydney-based Blake Wares (vocalist/guitarist with The Deep Blue). If the response to this synth-pop number - with a strong bass groove and hip-hop inspired vocals - so far is anything to go by, we're going to be loving lovemedo a lot.
