Watch :: slowthai debuts visuals to debut album title track 'Nothing Great About Britain'
Words: Sam Geary
slowthai is sharing a new single and accompanying video from his forthcoming debut album, 'Nothing Great About Britain', out May 17 via Method Records.
The album's title track, embodies the project's essential sentiment and the video captures the spirit of slowthai perfectly. Paralleling the King Arthur legend of Excalibur, it sees the young artist extract a hidden sword from stone and become rightful heir to the throne. Throughout the provocative visual, slowthai mocks and celebrates British stereotypes equally, concluding with the rapper stating "hand on my heart, I'm proud to be British" before leading a packed-out pub in singing the national anthem.
