Brighton post-punk, disco-funkers Squid have announced both a new single, ‘The Cleaner’, and an EP called ‘Town Centre’ which is coming out on September 6 via Dan Carey’s Speedy Wunderground label.
“'The Cleaner'," say the band - which follows the angular funk of ‘The Dial’ and the disco-punk of ‘Houseplants’ - "is a lost acquaintance, one that we’ve spent the last year trying to get to know... tirelessly working and turning up whenever needed. We work for the money to spend our time doing other things. 'The Cleaner' imagines the divided work and play structure and thinks about breaking from it."
