Valley Onda lead a stream of consciousness on the mesmerising 'Foreigner'

Having watched Valley Onda's video here for 'Foreigner' three times now, I am still not sure I have a clue what it us about, though the aural and visual experiences were not in any way a chore.

The Sydney-based trio themselves outline the following as their description of the song's inspiration:

Depicting fear and a loss of identity, Foreigner began life on piano but has taken shape into something bigger and grander as each member added their own unique flourishes and personality to the song. As it observes and deconstructs, Foreigner views humanity as a funnel, trickling down into one stream – a singularity of consciousness and corporeality that deeply reflects Valley Onda's own philosophies of the eternal.

So are we all clear now? No, me neither, really.

But Valley Onda, who started as an experimental project between Georgia Fair's Jordan Wilson and virtuoso drummer/producer Galen Sultmann, joined by Lamalo's producer/keys guru Michiya Nagai, are always interesting in their flawless blending of electronic and acoustic percussion, synth and strings with Wilson's deep and baring lyrics, as recently demonstrated on 'Relentless'.
