Violet are feeling all 'Pure Blue' as they head to debut EP

Words: Ellie Ward

Midlands indie quintet Violet, who we last heard back in April with 'Wilt', now return with a new colour in their repertoire: 'Pure Blue'.

Taken from their upcoming debut EP, ‘Feels Like Heaven', out on November 22 via HolyHowl, 'Pure Blue' is filled out with reverb-drenched guitars and epic, infectious chorus hooks, blended with woozy, cerulean pop melodies tinged with heavier 90s grunge influences.

“'Pure Blue' is a groovy cacophony of little ideas we loved from a load of our discarded tunes, sparked from a cheesy rendition of Randy Newman’s ‘You’ve Got A Friend In Me’," explain the band. "The song tries to encapsulate those dreams that are indistinguishable from real life, that bring back memories and feelings that you’d masked or never even knew you had.”

Check out 'Pure Blue' below.
