The Heavy North issue a vital message on new single 'Lying To Yourself'
Words: Paul Dawson
Currently we’re living in one of our most hectic and unpredictable periods of our lives, therefore it's vital that we try our best to relax and focus on other things. So what better way to calm yourself down than by listening to some old fashion country blues, and that’s exactly what Liverpool garage-blues rockers The Heavy North have provided us with on new single ‘Lying To Yourself’, out tomorrow (May 4).
Produced and mastered by guitarist Jose Ibanez at 3rd Planet Recording Studio in Liverpool, this latest offering from the quintet continues to grow the band's old school style that fuses classic blues with 50s Americana.
“'Lying To Yourself'," says vocalist Kenny Stuart, "is about those people in everyone's lives who are struggling - either with their own demons or addiction, and they feel they can’t always be themselves. Those people who can often lose their way and get swept up in the party, whilst keeping those who care about them at a distance. But most of all, it's a song about telling people that you're there for them when they need you most."
An important message in today's climate, as people struggle to adapt to life during this present epidemic. Check it out via the performance video below, directed by Dan Hewitson. You can also hopefully catch the band live when they are set to headline Jimmy in Liverpool on September 19.
