Sweden's Two Year Vacation are on a 'Getaway'

Words: Sam Geary

Filmed, directed and edited by Oskar Nordmark, Sweden's Two Year Vacation share new single 'Getaway' with its accompanying visuals.

Released last week, the track comes from the Gothenburg quintet's forthcoming album, 'Laundry Day', due later this year, and despite its buoyant, summery vibe, it is, according to the band, more "lyrically honest" than ever before.

"I want to change, there's nothing else that I ask for / The same refrain that I did on the last tour / I entertain everybody except for myself / I could go out, meet some common people /
Commit a crime and forget that it was legal / I entertain everybody except for myself,"
sings Anton Tuvesson, over the rhythmic keys and trop-pop melodies that carry it along.
