Make Friends return with new single 'Hesitate'
Words: Sam Geary
Following their summer release of 'Knowing Makes It Worse', Bristol four-piece Make Friends return with a more downbeat bent on new single, 'Hesitate'.
Out today via Funnel Music after being recorded at Geoff Barrow's Invada Studios before the Covid-19 lockdown, the woozy jam is a song about trying to help a friend who’s struggling with addiction and how hopeless that can feel.
"[It's] about dealing with the weight and responsibility of [that]," says guitarist David Thomas. "The song portrays an internal struggle where you want to be there for them, but at the same time you don’t know the right words to say or actions to take, and you’re worried you might fail them."
