First Listen :: Bleeding Heart Pigeons
Bleeding Heart Pigeons are the three-piece from Limerick who have quietly been creating a mini buzz (as well as being championed by Villagers’ Conor O’Brien) with their anthemic, up front music. Now with their self-titled EP released on December 16 via Virgin, and the remaining live dates of the year, that buzz looks set to become louder for the three teenage friends.
Their sound is often like a vying for prime attention between different aspects of the music. They fuse guitar attacks with ambient piano, aggressive drums against an almost sweetly lilting synths, and a soaring, raw vocal. Debut tracks 'Visiting Myself In Hospital', is an angular, psych-vibed guitar and drum experience, whilst 'Catharsis' - seven and a half minutes in length - careers through a dramatic range of styles.
The guys have been playing a handful of Irish/UK gigs supporting Little Green Cars/Bell X1. Remaining dates are:
With Little Green Cars:
Sat 7th Dec - Vicar Street, Dublin (SOLD OUT)...
Fri 13th Dec - Dolans Pub, Limerick (SOLD OUT)

Sat 21st Dec - Vicar Street, Dublin (SOLD OUT)
