'Funn' (out March 10) is the first track to emerge from Cash + David. And if the name means nothing to you - as it would probably not to most people - they are a duo from London: A self-billed 'co-operative garage band' who take all writing, production and mixing credits.
To describe their sound, the line from the pair themselves seems to be "singing 'Like A Virgin' in a desert karaoke booth, with Sleigh Bells on percussion and M83 on guitars." And part from that, the sinuous meld of crunch guitar and disembodied vocals, shiny synths and polished production on 'Funn', feels indicative of the vibrant electro we can expect further from them in 2014. And given that in little over a week they have racked up nearly 9000 Soundcloud plays at the present count, there's no doubt Cash + David are striking the right electro notes.
