One To Watch :: Luke De-Sciscio
He may not be a name that trips familiarly off the tongue as yet, but give him another year and Bath-based Luke De-Sciscio could easily be high on the attention radar and on a par with the best of his genre.
The 22-year-old Anglo-Italian singer-songwriter, who draws inspiration from the likes of Jeff Buckley, Van Morrison and Joni Mitchell - his five-track 'At Black Lodge' EP which came out last year, includes 'Joni', a song written in her honour - has a way with both lyrics and melody, a seering falsetto vocal and a fragile intensity that tugs at emotions.
Already having made slight ripples in the big ocean - including bring invited to play the annual Buckley tribute event last year, ‘An Evening with Jeff Buckley’ at Arlene’s Grocery in New York - Luke is about to release his third EP, 'Rust'.
Stream lead EP cut 'Always' below.
Catch Luke live on the following confirmed dates:
August 22
The Royal Oak, Bath
September 8
Komedia, Bath
September 18
The Victoria, Swindon
September 19
The Lamb, Devised
‘Rust’ is out on September 3 thru Source Mountain Records.
