October 10 2014 - Hot Top Ten

JOEL HOOD - GONE
The Yorkshire dance producer we first came across last year - see here - back with the title track from the debut EP released last month. Blissed out vocals in an electronic utopia.

VITA BERGEN - CURTAINS
Swedish duo with the lead track from their upcoming self-titled debut mini-album, out October 22. Tempo and genre-melding, quite exhilaratingly different. Our ears like.

BIG UPS - RASH
Short (1.47), but making its point, the New York punks charge with this heavy monster on their split EP (out November 18 on Exploding In Sound) with Brooklyn band Washer.

OSCA - AROUND THE BENDS
Third big anthem-ringing track, brimming with their trademark indie pop hooks. Taken from the London quartet's debut EP 'Blood', available digitally from November 17 via Duly Noted Records.

THE SOFT BONES - CERAMIC
Mellow drifts of understated keys and vocals on this lead single that appeared back in July. Featured on the debut EP 'Tiny Arms of Tyrannosaur', out this week digitally, by the solo artist from Dublin, currently residing in Montreal.

TREE OF WOLVES - LET THE NIGHT TAKE ME
Carmarthen-based five-piece with the shimmery indie rock follow-up to 'Half Light', recorded on a Pembrokeshire farm. Out on November 3, catch the band live on 1st at Dublin Castle, Camden. Great cover artwork - worth the cost of the record for that alone.

WHITE LACES - TEENAGE BONES
Virginia indie-pop outfit with the lead track to their follow-up album 'Trance' - out this week - coming after 2012′s 'Moves'. Produced by War
On Drugs associate Jeff Zeigler (Nothing, Purling Hiss), retro-gazed rock ’n’ roll.

HUMAN HUMAN - LIPS
French-Canadian four-piece from Montreal sounding, well, very sweet, in fact on this debut single of pulsing synths and , which was originally given a soft digital release back in April. Taken from their 10 track 'Run' debut album (all ten tracks being one-word titled).

THE KINGDOM - EVERYTHING YOU FIGHT FOR (ft. Odette)
Alias for JMJM, 16-year-old Sydney art student showing ability beyond his years in this, his debut, accompanied on vocals by another teen, fellow student Odette.

ASYLUMS - I'VE SEEN YOUR FACE IN A MUSIC MAGAZINE
Only the second work we've heard from this new Southend band - released October 27 - but already shaping into a much-talked-about little band. Catch them live on October 17 when they play a free entry show at Tooting Tram, London.
