Track Of The Day :: Dream Police - Pouring Rain

Dream Police is the project of Mark Perro and Nick Chiericozzi of The Men. Having already revealed the title track from their upcoming 'Hypnotized' full-length (or mini-album if you prefer, given there are just eight tracks), they now give us plenty of distorted guitar layers, drum machine, and hazy synths on 'Pouring Rain'.

The track utilises once again the Roland 707 drum machine heard on 'Hypnotized', along with a Juno 106 synthesizer, and at over six-and-a-half minutes in length, there's plenty of guitar riffage to fill the ears courtesy of Chiericozzi, on fine form here.

Dream Police was formed as a vehicle through which Perro and Chiericozzi could write and explore the kind of psych material that didn't quite work with The Men. As 'Hypnotized' has already been described as "a cloud of future primitive psychedelia", it sounds like they might be realising that end.

Dream Police are on tour now across North America until December.

'Hypnotized' is out on November 11 via Sacred Bones.
