Introducing :: Maybe The Moon
Maybe The Moon are the latest pairing to emerge in the electronic duo genre. The two - Karmen Kimball (vocals / keys) and Alex Lasner (guitar / keys) from San Francisco's Bay Area, have also just put out their debut single as a free download.
'Two Birthdays' - which was released just before Christmas - they describe as being "about unrequited love, and an undying obsession with a lost relationship. Year after year, the main character makes the same birthday wish, to reconnect with her ex-lover, yet each time, it never comes to fruition."
Something that Karmen and Alex would not appear to be writing about in any connection to their own relationship. Now engaged to each other, they met at a party in December two years ago, after they struck up a conversation about their mutual love for Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, and realized they had both gone to the same elementary school. They got engaged a few weeks later and since then have been in the studio working on a batch of singles they plan to release over the course of 2015.

Cool tune! Love the Echoplex"overrun.
ReplyDeleteWell done. Pulsating bass line with judicious synthesizer use. Demanding well sung vocals including romantic lyrics. Excellent production quality with synth/analog percussion, tasteful use of delay and echoplex.
