DIOS MIO - TREEHOUSE
First single cut - released September 4 - from the Londoners' debut EP. Dark grunge pop, said to be inspired by Terrence Malick’s film, Badlands.
Melodic, slightly ethereal, and sensual vocals from Helena Coan make a dark pop winner.





SHIRT TAILS - HOME RECORDINGS

SEXTILE - CAN'T TAKE IT
The first cut from the LA band's debut album ‘A Thousand Hands’, out August 21 via Felte. The quartet sound a force to be reckoned with, melding menacing surf punk, early industrial and post-punk.





TONGUES - RELIGION
Fast gaining a reputation, Glasgow electronic artist Tim Kwant -formerly with electro-pop band Kill The Waves - follows up 'Colours In The Dark' with this new work of synth pop, full of driving rhythm and modulated vocals, and is a taste of his debut EP, due September.





STICKY BLOOD - PROFESSIONAL (ft. Hekky)
First track from the Sheffield production duo's - Andy Nicholson (ex-Arctic Monkeys' bassist) and Jamie Shield - debut EP, 'ID', out August 14. Piano, synth 'n' bass combine for a masterly oeuvre.





NIGHT GAMES - NINE DAYS
Out this week, the second single release for the London electronica duo, is pure languid, late night synth-pop. Not much fire, but plenty of oozing bliss. Hear the pair - Constance and Paul - perform it live tonight (July 31) at The Lexington in London.





ASTRAL TRIP - KNOCKOUT
Title track from the Bradford drum n bass sludge-disco duo's (Haydn Wilcox - vocals/bass, Nick Millbank -
drums/backing vocals) second five-track EP, released last weekend. It delivers a punch, that's for sure.





STARLING - MISFIT
B-side to debut single 'Take It Down' is a combination of stripped back piano and crystal clear vocals, that are both delicate and forceful, from the London songstress.





IYES - SO CRAZY
Brighton duo Josh Christopher and Melis Soyaslanová return with an electro pop follow-up of haunting synths and dual vocals, to 'Glow', and their early Beyonce cover, ‘Crazy In Love'.





AFFAIRS - BROTHERS
Our featured Track Of The Day this week, the second single from the Manchester outfit, highlighted by a crisp production, chiming guitars, sweet synths, and James Robinson's even sweeter vocals.
