Track Of The Day :: Rory Wynne - It's A Shame All Christmas Songs Are Cheesy, Writing One Is Quite Easy

Words: Linn Branson

As we're now on the home run up to Christmas, it's time to get a little festive. Yes, along with drawing up lists to Santa, stuffing the turkey, trimming the tree and decorating the halls with merry glee and all that shiz, there are also the delights (largely not, however) of the Christmas song.

If, like us, you are well and truly filled to the limit on Slade, Band Aid and the rest, well here's one that may just provide enough spirit without the nauseous aftertaste.

Our favourite Stockport teen, 16-year-old Rory Wynne is back with a new tune to see out 2015 on. Following his punky 'Why Don't You?' he now gives us an alternative to the usual cheesy fare with 'It's A Shame All Christmas Songs Are Cheesy, Writing One Is Quite Easy'.

In fact, despite it being around for a couple of Yules now as he first uploaded it back in 2013, as he says, "I've changed quite a bit and thought re-recording it would do no harm." And indeed it doesn't. It's a hellishly catchy little number that rocks out at a pace, with some humorous lyrics and spiky guitar riffs. Definitely one to get you up on your feet and jingling those bells.

Rory supports fellow Stockportians Blossoms at Oslo, Hackney on December 18 (changed from The Victoria, Dalston).
