Watch :: Coquin Migale pull out the stops on new single 'GRINDIE'
Words: Linn Branson
Newcastle's Coquin Migale have already built up a name via first singles 'GOLD' and
'SOCOTRA'. Now new single 'GRINDIE' looks liking pushing the four-piece further up the ladder. Released on May 6, it has already attracted the attention of Radio 1's Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart.
Despite still trying to work out if 'GRINDIE' is animal, vegetable or mineral, or a grime/indie mash-up (our enquiries elicited a bribe of, if we paid them the sum of a fiver, they'd supply the answer. In the manner befitting our journalistic standards, we declined), it's big, brash and inimitably energy-fuelled with standout catchy riffs, fierce bass line and frontman Alex Soper driving home the heavy duty business on the vocal front.
Check out Callum Scott Dyson's black-and-white live performance video below.
