Spookyland share 'Big Head' video and announce London date

Words: Sam Geary

Sparking Little Indie's interest first back in 2014, Sydney quartet Spookyland rock their Americana roots courtesy of nasal warbling frontman Marcus Gordon with the imminent release of their debut album, 'Beauty Already Beautiful', which is out on May 6 through Play It Again Sam.

Following a run of successful shows at SXSW festival plus support shows with Jake Bugg, Spookyland share the video for new album single 'Big Head'.

Primarily shot at Green’s Point in Brooklyn, New York, the video sees the band battle snowstorms and rejection.

Speaking of the video, Gordon says:

“We had a night off and it was snowing in a really terrific way. Oscar Zabala (director) had lived around the Williamsburg area for six years, his genius with a camera, location wisdom and the snow allowed us to swiftly and spontaneously capture the video."

The band are set to play a one-off London date on May 24 at Sebright Arms.
